Work From Home – Choosing The Best Domain is Critical

March 14th, 2010 by Brian Lett | No Comments | Filed in Work from Home

If you are planning to work from home by starting up a home business, you will undoubtedly need a website. So what should you choose as your domain name?

We are all subject to the Internet era. As much as some people have tried to avoid this era by not learning how to send a simple email, or refusing to join Facebook, they have realized that they were fighting a losing battle, and have since given in to the way things are today. Nonetheless, when it comes to selecting the right domain name for your home business website, we have yet to reach a consensus regarding as to what the most important factors in domain selection are. However, there is a consensus that whatever domain name you choose should be highly relevant to the plan and foresight of your online business. For instance, you can choose a domain which contains a keyword which is relevant to your work from home endeavor. Doing so will make it easier for your website to rank for this keyword. However, you must not lose sight of your business brand or description in the domain. Furthermore, you should pay attention to the length of your domain name, how it sounds when spoken, its memorability, and whether the name is taken in a different extension (ie. .net, .org, .biz, etc.).

With that being said, let us look at the three major rationales used when choosing a domain.

1) Domains For Search Engine Placement

The purpose of this sort of domain, is to rank high in the search engines. Such domains contain the keywords being searched for. Search engine domains are very rarely brandable, and are primarily utilized to redirect traffic to a main website. A company who sells blue widgets would benefit from acquiring blue-widgets.com and bluewidgets.com, firstly, because it is natural that people will remember such address, but most importantly, such a domain name has a high probability of ranking at, or very near to, the top of a search for ‘blue widgets’.

2) Branding Your Business With Your Domain

When coming from the offline business into the work from home Internet world, the obvious choice for brand domains is the offline brand name plus a: (dot) com and/or (dot) country extension. Country extensions are used in countries were there is more popularity in their country extension than on the .com. In the case that no brand existed prior to moving online, one must be very creative when composing their brandable name. Keep in mind that there are millions of domain names registered around the world, and that the Internet is not region specific. Consequently, one often finds that the desired domain is taken. There is a consensus among most Internet domain experts that the shorter the domain, the better. A domain which is approximately five letters long is highly desirable for a brand. However, the domain must sound right as well. For instance, yxxtz.com would be undesirable, because it cannot be easily said to or remembered by the general public.

3) General Term Domains

Back in the late 1990’s, companies were registering general term domains in droves. This was known as the (dot) com boom. However, when the (dot) com bubble burst, many companies who utilized a strategy choosing general term domains crumbled. There were other companies who refused to go this route, and instead focused on creating a brand for their business with their domain name. Several of these companies where able to survive the (dot) com crash. Having said that, general term domains do hold value, and should not be overlooked. Just like keyword domains, general term domains tend to generate traffic via their ability to rank in the search engines for the specific term. For this reason, general term domains are valuable, and should be implemented into your online strategy. What we are able to take from the collapse of the (dot) com era, is that you cannot simply register a general term domain, throw a website on it, and expect your business to flourish. Rather, general term domains are just a piece to the puzzle.

Therefore, before you put your plan to work from home with your home business into motion, be certain to spend an ample amount of time selecting your domain name. Take what you have learned today, and decide what works best for your online business.

In order to profitably Work From Home you will need a website for your Home Business. Just make sure that you put a lot of thought into your domain selection. Furthermore, you should stop by and see us at SOSComplete.com

Are You One Of The 10% Who Can Succeed In Network Marketing?

March 13th, 2010 by Julie Sabotte | No Comments | Filed in Work from Home

Over 90% of all Network Marketers spend more money than they make. Of the remaining ten percent, 60%-70% make less than $500 per month.

You could do better than that at the casino! Is that the dream you signed up for? I bet not.

you probably didn’t sign up to make $500 per month. More likely, you were attracted by the possibility of becoming financially independent. So what can you do to enhance your chances?

Unless you’re fortunate enough to have a tech-savvy sponsor, you’re probably not going to get much help finding a way to build your business on the internet. It’s not your sponsor’s fault though. (Keep in mind that if he or she is “average”, they have no idea how to build a network!)

Even though the internet has been used to sell everything from houses to horses, it has only recently become a viable tool for MLMers. Through to hard work and insights of a small group or really smart people, it is slowly becoming a reality. But the vast majority of network builders get into an MLM for the wrong reason–they used a product that helped them lose weight or save money, and now they want to tell other people about it.

If your sponsor tells you that the way to make money is to sell a lot of product and find a few other people who will do the same thing, they probably won’t business very long. If you follow their advice, neither will do. You have to feel comfortable that your product is high-quality so you can recommend it wholeheartedly.

Most networkers are initially attracted to an MLM opportunity because of the superior quality of a product. This is an important factor in choosing a company to represent, but it’s not the MOST important factor. Of course, you want to share a product you like and can stand behind. If you’re just selling something for the money, your prospects will sniff you out and know you’re insincere and they won’t listen to you the next time you have something you want to tell them about.

In fact, I’ll say something here that’s almost heresy: Your Product Is Not Important To Your Success! That’s right. what you sell is of secondary importance. HOW you help your new distributors do the same thing is far more important.

If you’re getting into MLM as a path to independence, there are two things you can offer your prospect that are more important than which product you offer. 1) The vision of residual income and financial independence, and 2) the belief in YOU, that you’ll help them get there. And the only way you can do that is to provide them with a turn key system that is so simple THEY CANNOT FAIL.

The reason most people fail in MLM is that once they’ve signed up for their primary opportunity, they have no idea what to do. It’s really weird that in the Internet era, the same old garbage advice is handed down from sponsor to recruit: “make a list of 100 people and start calling them.”

Yuck! Who wants to do that? (Actually, I know someone who LOVES to do that. Thank God for Caller ID. I can avoid his calls and not hurt his feelings!)

The Net is the ideal tool for building a networking business. But it seems out of reach of most people because it seems like you need to be a computer wiz to create a user-friendly system. Unless you’re a high-end programmer, that’s almost impossible.

If you have those skills, marketing and computer programming, you could create a product that hundreds of thousands of network marketers would want, so please don’t let me dissuade you from trying. I might be the first to sign up!

The best system I’ve found is a two-part system. Part one is Mike Dillard’s Magnetic Sponsoring. Mike’s specialty is teaching the networker marketers MINDSET. Unless you have the right mindset, you’re going to approach prospects the wring way. Not one MLMer in a hundred knows this vital piece.

The second part is called MLM Lead System Pro, which is a turn key system for building an online recruiting “machine” that’s extremely effective and easy-to-implement.

I’ve been recommending Magnetic Sponsoring to my team and their response has been universally positive. If you’re new to the industry and still trying to figure out how to do “the right way”, I recommend you check it out by clicking the link in my signature.

After struggling to build his MLM for many years, John Zehr discovered a way to attract new distributors almost magically. He’s offering free training videos that explain the “Magnetic Sponsoring” techniques at his web site, free of charge. This and other unique content ” articles are available with free reprint rights.

Benefits Any Individual Health Insurance Plan Should Include

March 6th, 2010 by Mary Hodges | No Comments | Filed in Web Traffic Tips

If you have a job that has a company health insurance scheme you’ll probably be happy with it as you will be getting some really good benefits. If your company doesn’t do this, you will probably be shopping around to find your own.

Some insurers can be unscrupulous and rely on your ignorance about certain facts. I’m here to put you in the picture about a few things. These are all key things that any policy holder must know about, lest you’ll stand the risk of getting something you never intended to. We don’t want that to happen, so please pay close attention here.

This is just a few handy hints to make you aware of some things and help you avoid the pitfalls in choosing a plan to suit you. Hopefully you’ll take heed to them when it comes to finding your policy.

Always check what limitations or exclusions are in your policy. Are covered while you travel or if you pick up an injury while taking part in sports etc?

Things like this can be buried in the small print in between lots of useless information, so take the time to read this properly.

If you are on prescription drugs check for this too. Are there benefits for users and are your drugs covered, as many are not. They will just give a discount instead of a co pay on many drugs, this is the main difference from a company policy when nearly everything is covered with co pay.

A pre-existing medical condition is probably the grayest area when it comes to health insurance. So many people buy policies and then discover too late that their condition isn’t covered.

If there is an exclusion rider on your policy, this means you are precluded for any condition that you are being already treated for. Take this cost into consideration when working out your annual medical costs, or get another policy.

Affiliate Network – Set Your Visitors Up For The Sale

February 28th, 2010 by Brian Lett | No Comments | Filed in Work from Home

First you have an affiliate network. Then you have the Internet which is booming with websites created by affiliates to steer visitors to advertisers’ websites. This is the simple elegance of affiliate programs. Create a website, sign up as an affiliate with an affiliate network. Find companies which sell products you like, then sit back and watch the money pour in. At least that is the theory. The truth is that many affiliates make the one mistake which most hurts their business the most. That mistake is that they fail to pre-sell their customers.

One thing that every affiliate must realize is that their job is not to try and sell the potential customer with their website. In fact, this is the last thing that you want to do as an affiliate. The reason why is that customers are ready and waiting to resist your sales pitch. This is how we are programmed as consumers. Therefore, an affiliate with a great website which is focused too much on the sale will still have difficulty getting their visitors to click through to the advertiser’s website.

If this does not make sense, keep in mind why people in the millions everyday go onto the Internet. They are looking for content. They want to learn something, or they are looking for help with a problem, or they have some other need.

Hence, if you were someone simply looking for information, would you appreciate being bombarded with a sales pitch? Of course not. Therefore, rather than present the items that you want to sell to your visitors, you must present them with the information that have been seeking. Doing so will not only gain the attention of your visitor, it will also gain their trust. When someone sees that you know what you are talking about, and are answering their questions by bestowing your great knowledge upon them, they will trust your recommendations. Of course, your recommendations are the products which you are selling. Therefore, with knowledge in hand, your visitors are highly likely to click through to the advertiser’s website, through your affiliate link.

What we have just described is what is known as the pre-sell. The pre-sell is conducted by the affiliate. It is a method by which you provide your visitors with a wealth of information on their topic of interest. Doing this places your visitor in a positive mindset, which opens them up to the advertiser’s sales pitch.

There are two important things to remember to effectively pre-sell your visitors:

1. Your website must cover the subject matter of the advertiser products or services which you promote.

If you are signed up as affiliate with several dating sites, then your site should obviously be devoted to dating and getting people together, along with anything associated with relationships-flowers, candy, special holidays, jewelry, cards, or gifts. You name it. Be creative. Obviously a pitch for the greatest money-making opportunity will not fit.

2. Put yourself in your visitor’s shoes.

This is not the easiest thing in the world to do. People put a lot of work into their websites, and have an emotional attachment. As such, it is often difficult to be critical and see things as visitors may see them. If possible, now is a good time to get a fresh set of eyes to look at your website. If at all possible, so not let the individual know that this is your site so that they will not be partial. You have to know whether the navigation is easy to follow. You also must determine if the website adequately conveys to proper theme, and if it gives the visitor the information that they have been seeking. If you can truly say to yourself that the website accomplishes its intended purpose, then it is a pre-seller. Note that you will have gained your visitor’s trust by becoming a valuable source of information, and they are likely to take you up on your product or service recommendation.

Hopefully you can see why this method works so well. Essentially, it comes down to the two step process. The first step is where you, the affiliate, are of the utmost importance. Your website is the one which gives the visitor the information which they have been searching for on the Internet. Having received this information from you proves to the visitor that you are well versed on the subject matter. This garners trust in the visitor. As a trusted resource, the visitor is receptive to your product or service recommendation, and will visit the website which you recommend. Of course, the website which you recommend is one for which you are an affiliate. Since the visitor’s mental state is one which is not that of a guarded buyer, they are receptive to the advertiser’s sales pitch.

Just remember that the job of your website is to provide the information. This is the pre-sell which we have been talking about. Leave it to the advertiser to do the selling on their website, as this is their role in the affiliate network.

Joining an Affiliate Network is a great start. However, you must pre-sell your Affiliate Programs to generate interest from buyers. Visit us at SOSComplete.com.
