Ways To Make Money – Embrace Your Untraditional Side

I can tell you that one of the best ways to make money is by creating an unconventional product or service which satisfies a hungry market. Unfortunately, the lack of creativity is what I notice most frequently in online business. Most websites which market a product or service have a generic look and feel.

Way back during the dot come boom, coming up with the next cutting edge solution was the ultimate goal, and the actual business was secondary. The person who was most creative was the person who would make the most money. In fact, even an amazingly novel idea was worth millions, or even billions. Do you think I am being far fetched with this assertion? If so, visit your favorite search engine, and type in the name “Mark Cuban”. How do you think he became a billionaire? He sold his idea for Internet radio, that’s how.

Just think for a moment. Back during the dot com era, there were not nearly as many websites online as there are today. Therefore, you cannot just create a generic website, with a generic idea and expect to make money. Rather, you need to shout and be seen. However, you want to do this by creating substance, not fluff. One thing that the dot com collapse taught us is that fluff does not get your very far.

Now I have an exercise for you to take on. I want you to turn off your computer monitor, and problem-solve. Think of new and innovative ways to make money. You have the facts on your side. Unlike entrepreneurs in the past, you know that success is highly possible on the Internet. New creations keep on coming via the Internet. Just look at the most recent stars, Twitter and Facebook. Can you believe that both of these websites were actually criticized for breaking tradition. Who do you think has the last laugh.

One thing that you may or may not be aware of is the fact that there are at least 40 billion web pages on the Internet. Simply being another website and hoping to take away market share from an existing niche is not the easiest thing to do, unless that niche is extremely unpopulated. Otherwise, your option is to identify a need, and fill that need. For instance, Twitter satisfies a need to streamline information quickly to a huge number of people at an instant. Twitter found a niche in Internet communication, and used it to their advantage.

Going back some decades, Walt Disney was a very non-traditional thinker. Similar to Facebook and Twitter, he was ridiculed in his early years. In fact, many business geniuses are ridiculed prior to demonstrated success. For instance, the press doubted that Disneyland had a chance of survival, and referred to it as “Disney’s Folly”. Funny huh? I wonder who got the last laugh.

Just know that if you have an idea which goes against conventional thinking, expect people to put that idea down. Just think back to the year 1996. You are excited because you have determined that you are going to develop an online business in which you will give everything away for free. What do you think would happen if you were to have shared this concept with your friends or family? They would probably have given you their movie money and thanked you for the comedy.

The funny thing is that a company did actually develop on Internet business which was based on giving away everything for free. This company is called Hotmail, and they gave their e-mail platform away for free at a time where everyone else was requiring either payment, or some sort of work or scholastic affiliation. Hotmail was first, and Hotmail was, and still is free.

What Hotmail was doing, was identifying a target market which would generate a fortune for them in the future. They took what was know and accepted as a paid service, made it better, and gave it away for free. Because of Hotmail, it became easy to check your email from anywhere in the world with an Internet connection. This was not the norm back them. Shortly after, Hotmail was able to generate income by selling ads, and eventually got the big payday when they were purchased by Microsoft.

The notion of identifying a paid for service, and giving it away for free is alive and well. However, if you want to share the same type of success as Facebook, Twitter, and Hotmail, it is likely that you will need to do more than merely copy what they have done. Of course, that something is the question which needs to be answered. Whoever can answer this question will have discovered ways to make money in the millions, or even billions.

Make Money Fast – Give Yourself Some Leeway

One thing that I always find amusing, is the fact that people wait until the end of the year to make resolutions. If your resolution is to make money fast, is it not counterintuitive to wait until the end of the year? Of course it is. The fact of the matter is that you can make a resolution in June or any other month. Nonetheless, no matter which resolution strategy you implement, I am going to give you four tips which will help you to make money fast irrespective of the season.

1. You Must Be Relentless

Remember folks, the goal is to make money fast. This is nothing less than a challenge. What do you do when face with a challenge? You put forth your absolutely best effort. At least I hope that you do.

2. Make Sure That Your Goals Are Attainable

Do your goals reside within the spectrum of reality, or are they unrealistic? For instance, if your goal is to generate a profit of six-million dollars in the next three-hundred and sixty-five days with a new business, you are probably being unrealistic. I am not trying to discourage you for aiming high, however, such a goal is a little bit ridiculous. It is still possible to make money fast, and maintain your grasp on reality. Furthermore, a more attainable goal is less likely to discourage you.

3. Show No Quit

You have to know upfront that you will face obstacles, and predetermine how you will act in the face of these inevitable obstacles. Of course, the best strategy is to determine that you will work even harder in the face of adversity.

4. Reward Yourself

At the end of the year, reward yourself based on how well you kept your resolution to make money fast. If you hit your goals, consider taking the family on a vacation, or making a purchase that you were unable to before. If you fall short of your goal, keep the reward on the table for when you do achieve your goal. As was stated at the outset, your resolutions should not be restricted by the calendar year.

Just keep this in mind. To make money fast is a good thing, to make money consistently is a great thing. If you have to wait until May of the following year until to make money because you chose a long-term business over a make money fast scheme, you have done the right thing.

Make Money Fast – “Should” is a Naughty Word

When we think about, or talk about our goals, we often use the word “should” when referring to a specific action which we must take in order to achieve out goals. Most of us think that “should” is just an innocent word that helps us get out of boring conversations and confrontations regarding our bad habits. Little do we realize that the word “should” poisons our speech and ambitions to make money fast by inferring that what we are doing is not good enough, and that we would be better off doing something else.

When you say that you “should” do something, what are you really saying?

1. There is something which you have to get done which you are not looking forward to doing. This is opposed to when we are marking the days on our calendar waiting for something which we have been looking forward to doing. We have no problem doing these things, and do not have to tell ourselves that we “should” do them. For example, we never tell ourselves that we should go to the football game which we have season tickets for. This is, so long as we are die hard fans. However, if we have the chance of winning tickets to a single game in exchange for volunteering at a homeless shelter, it then becomes a “should”. I “should” volunteer. This is a common behavioral pattern for someone who wants to make money fast. Hence, it is of the utmost importance that if your goals is to make money fast, that you engage in activities to do so which you enjoy. Thus, if you enjoy what you do, you will look forward to doing it, and will not say that you “should” do it.

2. Not only do you have zero drive to do something, you have come up with a great explanation why you cannot. You say that you “should” do this or that, however, excuses, excuses, excuses. Such a manner of conduct states that you know what is the right thing to do, but you have made up your mind that you are not going to do it. Imagine how ridiculous you would look if you were a lawyer and you told your client that you know that you “should” have cross-examined the witness, but rather than paying attention during direct examination, you were preparing your shopping list.

3. You know what needs to be done in your life to make it the way that you want it to be, but you keep on putting it off. Anyone who “should” lose thirty pounds, or “should” stop smoking, or “should” become more educated know exactly what you need to do to feel better, live healthier, and become more qualified. The problem is that you are masking what you need to do with a feeble excuse not to get it done. It is really simple to do nothing and just let life carry you along. However, such people go nowhere in life. You need to set goals, and take action on those goals. That is how you get ahead.

If your “should’s” pale in comparison to your goals, get a pen a paper and stipulate first identify your goals. Then underneath, write down exactly which “should” you need to accomplish in order to achieve those goals. One you have done so, it is time to go after it. Assuming that one of your goals is to make money fast, and the corresponding should is to take steps to get traffic to your website, then find out what you need to do to get traffic, and do it.

What I want you to do, is to sit down and think hard about what your should’s are. Once you have determined all of your should’s, turn them into categorical “will’s” and will not’s”. Do away with “should” completely. The word “should” weakens you and holds you back. However, the word “will” equips you with the strength and avidity to realize your goals.

1. You must determine how badly you want to succeed at making money. In other words, how strong is your desire? This is very important. The truth is that if you have a strong enough desire, you will achieve your goals. This is why the saying, “Where there is a will, there is a way”, has been so widely embraced.

2. Next, you need to set goals which fit your desire. Similar to desires, goals also stimulate your intrinsic motivation. Goals guide your future direction. Your goal is the direction in which your desire will take you. If you are able to see with your mind’s vision exactly what you want, then it will become a reality. The more details you see your desires in your mind, the more concrete is your mental image. The more concrete your mental image, the more likely you will get exactly what you long for. A good goal is a statement of what you want, in a positive, clear, concrete, and emotional way. Write your goals down on paper to give them life, and state them in the present. You write your goal down as if it is already yours for the taking.

3. Unfortunately, we are not out of the woods once we establish our goals. Rather, it is important that we are convinced that we can actually attain these goals. Furthermore, we must realize that we are as deserving of success as anyone else on this planet. Although we may not have all of the answers where we stand right now, we must be confident that we will find the answers along the way. This is not only significant for determining ways to make money. Rather, it applies to all goals in life.

4. With all else being said, one of the most important factors is positivity. It does not matter how vivid your dreams may be. Nor does it matter how strong are your desires, or luminous your goals if you are negative. Negativity trumps all dreams, desires, and goals. Therefore, you must remain positive.

5. There is no replacement for persistence. It is much easier to take step one than it is to take step twenty-seven. You must remain persistent and keep your focus on your ultimate goals. Your focus is what will keep you on the right path. Over time, your skills will improve to the point that the performance of your daily tasks will be almost automatic.
